Experience a piece of chess history with this meticulously crafted reproduction of the early 1900s American Chess Company chess set. Handcrafted from antiqued and ebonised boxwood, each piece reflects the robust and solid design characteristic of the original set, offering both aesthetic appeal and functional stability.

The original set gained prominence during the prestigious 1904 Cambridge Springs International Chess Congress, the first major international chess tournament in America in the twentieth century. This tournament featured seven of the world's top ten players, including renowned figures like Emanuel Lasker, Dawid Janowski, and Frank Marshall, who emerged victorious.

Historically, these sets were available in various sizes, ranging from 3.25 inches to 4.4 inches, and were offered in both weighted and unweighted versions. The original pieces were sold in Ebony and Plain Boxwood, known for their thick, robust bodies that provided a solid and steady feel during play.

This 3.9-inch King reproduction stays true to the original design, capturing the essence of vintage American craftsmanship. It's an ideal addition for collectors and chess enthusiasts seeking a blend of historical significance and timeless elegance.
